PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The Turkish Cultural Centre is a building with just one facade, right next to the pavement, beside the tram line. The site that had a accommodate the 1.000 m2 building is a mere eight meters wide and 32 meters deep. To the left, the street is lined with Austro-Hungarian buildings; to the right are dilapidated buildings of indeterminate character. A typical Turkish room was created, or rather staged, on the first floor, set in the doksat or jutty, the most striking element of Ottoman Turkish architecture, which here dominates and indeed constitutes the street front.

OPIS PROJEKTA:

Turski kulturni centar je kuća jedne fasade, izgrađena uz sam rub pločnika, uz tramvajsku prugu. U zgradi širine 8m i dubine 32m trebalo je upakovati / setovati 1.000 m2 površine Turskog kulturnog centra. S lijeve strane počinju austrougarski ulični objekti, s desne strane su trošni, nedefinirani objekti. Na prvoj etaži je tipična turska soba. To je onaj dominantni doksat ulične fasade koji predstavlja najjači i najizraženiji element turske otomanske arhitekture.
